Southampton Hospitals Charity return as Lead Local Charity Partner

Southampton Hospitals Charity will be joining us this year at ABP Southampton Marathon carrying on as our Lead Local Charity.

The ABP Southampton Marathon offers a variety of distances to participants including Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and the recent addition of the 5K, you can choose any of these distances to run and support Southampton Hospitals Charity.

The Southampton Hospitals Charity (SHC) bring people together to raise life-changing funds for the University Hospital Southampton – the South Coast’s leading healthcare provider. From specialist services to pioneering research, their incredible supporters enhance care, experience, and outcomes for thousands of patients every year.

SHC are keen to promote how the support of previous runners have helped to transform the hospital. We hope that you will look at joining SHC and filling one of their spaces at ABP 2023, to fundraise money to help the continued improvement of the hospital.

Ray Southam, Public Fundraising Manager, says: “Your local hospital is at the very forefront of medical care and research. Byrunning ABP Southampton Marathon for Southampton Hospitals Charity, you can keep it there.

We work hand in hand with University Hospital Southampton to raise the additional funds needed by the hospital to stay at the very forefront of modern medical care. That might mean providing state of the art machinery and cutting-edge equipment. Funding vital drugs tests and research projects to improve treatments. Or kitting out new facilities and rehabilitation units to help patients get better, quicker.

Whether you are a frequent runner or have just begun your running journey, every runner is welcome to run us. By supporting Southampton Hospitals Charity, you’re making sure your local hospital continues to lead the way in providing the very best possible care for patients and their families.”
