Ramzi is running the ABP Half Marathon for SouthamptonHospitals Charity. He only started running 9 months ago and is challenging himself to raise money and say thank you to Southampton Children’s Hospital for the treatment and care they gave to his little girl Thea.
Thea was born in December 2019 at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. An urgent referral to Southampton Children’s Hospital diagnosed hip dysplasia on both sides.
Ramzi and his wife Cheryl, were worried about the long road ahead for Thea. At one year old Thea had her first operation and spent a week in hospital followed by three months of full body casts. Then on 20 April 2021 Thea went back into hospital to have the same operation again, this time on her other hip.
After six months of full body casts, thankfully the end of the journey is in sight, and Thea will soon be cast free.
